Our History

Coatesville Pony Club was established on the 12th May 1974 with Mr. Jack McGregor as the first President. Many of the early members still live locally within the area. The first rally was held on 11th August 1974 and attended by 21 children and 7 seniors who enrolled and paid the subscription of just $5 for an individual and $14 for a family.

50 years on, Coatesville Pony Club has grown to be one of the largest Pony Clubs in the Waitemata district and the second oldest Pony Club in the district.
Coatesville Pony Club has a thriving membership base that starts with junior members as young as 5 and now stretches well beyond the 25 year old senior range to a strong adult ride club that caters for all levels.

Members of Coatesville Pony Club can enjoy the expansive club grounds afforded by a lease on the part of the Coatesville Recreation Reserve and access to other public areas of the reserve as well as exclusive member use of two all weather arenas and extensive jumping facilities including an exhilarating cross country course that makes excellent use of this unique natural setting.
